Summer 2009
This year we will install over 300 new computer workstations replacing older equipment in classrooms, faculty offices and administrative areas. We have also added a new computer classroom to the Marple campus (room 4163).
There has been a significant amount of activity in improving the delaGATE web portal and the introduction of a “Class Cancellation” channel.
OIT has upgraded the phone equipment on all campuses and introduced the VoIP technology which consolidates phone and computer communications over a unified network. The VoIP technology allows more flexibility and features, while reducing some of the complexity of managing our telecommunications systems.
We’re also have also begun replacing both our wireless network central authentication system and our wireless transmitters. These upgrades will make access faster and more secure.
New computers, audio/visual equipment, VoIP phones and wireless equipment are being installed in the new Advanced Technology Center for use in the Fall semester.
We’ve also introduced the latest webaccess version of our Faculty/Staff email (Groupwise 8) which has a lot of useful enhancements (training will be available in the beginning of the term and as needed during the year). Groupwise 8 Client will be pushed out to workstations later this fall.
